I am grateful for the Black folks undefined – redefining themselves.
The ones questioning everything. Trying new things.
The Black folks who love Black tradition so much that they dare and create their own.
The ones who forge new ideas and till new ground. I am grateful for Black imagination that espouses new way.
I am grateful for Black imagination that exposes limitation. These people, these practices, these ideas…Heal me. Comfort me. Shake me. Push me. Throw me over. Let me in. Have me. Release me. Dare me.
“I dare to defy what the world expects of me and how the world defines me. That I might be myself. That I might be ours. “
